We refer to your information request dated 23 September 2021 made under the Official Information 
Act 1982 (Act). You have requested information regarding whether the University has tested the 
ingredients in the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine. 
 
We set out our responses to each of your questions below. 
 
 
Can the University of Otago confirm if they have tested the ingredients in the Pfizer 
vaccine, and if so, can the University of Otago confirm if traces of Graphene Oxide and 
Trypanosoma cruzi were found in the lipids? 
 
We can confirm that the University has not carried out testing of the Pfizer vaccine. Accordingly, we 
decline your request pursuant to section 18(e) of the Act on the basis that the information 
requested does not exist. 
 
 
If the test of the vaccine has not been completed can the University please provide all 
communications with government agencies as to why this was not completed and if that 
was due to contractual agreements with the NZ government and Pfizer 
 
We can confirm that the University holds no communications with government agencies which fall 
within scope of your request. Accordingly, we decline your request pursuant to section 18(e) of the 
Act on the basis that the information requested does not exist. 
 
 
We note your right to seek a review of this decision via a complaint to an Ombudsman. However, we 
would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
