[FYI request #16650 email] Tēnā koe Nic
I refer to your request received on 7th September 2021, which has been considered
under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), for a breakdown of the number of funding
applications that have been submitted in te Reo Māori over the last three financial
years.
In this instance, we have interpreted ‘funding applications that have been submitted’
as ‘funding applications submitted to Manatū Taonga’.
We do not capture this information; therefore, your request is refused under
section 18(g) of the OIA as the information requested is not held by Manatū Taonga.
Anecdotally, through conversations with fund managers within Manatū Taonga, we
have found that while some funding applications sent to Manatū Taonga contain
phrases in te Reo Māori, no funding applications have been submitted to Manatū
Taonga written completely or primarily in te Reo Māori.
