Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) to the Ministry of 
Health (the Ministry) on 27 August 2021 for: 
 
“1. How many people were turned away from vaccination centres due race only? 
2. What were the races of those turned away by race only grounds in 1 above?” 
 
The Ministry has not received any reports of people being turned away from vaccination centres 
due to race. Therefore, you request is refused under section 18(e) as the information requested 
does not exist. Any instances of people being turned away from vaccination centres due to race 
should be reported to the Ministry.  
 
Under section 28(3) of the Act you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review any
