Trust Board Remuneration
Remuneration for Trust Board members is published annually in the Auckland War
Memorial Museum’s Annual Report. The
2019-20 Annual Report is available online.
In FY2020/21, the ten appointed Trust Board members received a total of $204,000
(unaudited). This figure was reduction on the agreed remuneration amount due to the
impacts of the Covid lockdowns. There have been no expense reimbursements since
January 2020.
Trust Board Minutes
Section 48 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
(LGOIMA) allows for the exclusion of the public for some aspects of the Trust Board
Meeting agenda.
Open Trust Board meeting minutes have not been published on the Museum website as
these are readily available on request. In accordance with LGOIMA, the Board has
decided to release the open minutes of all Trust Board meetings to you in their entirety,
and free of charge. Attached are the approved open Trust Board meeting minutes from
January 2020 to date as requested.
These minutes do not include items that were considered under confidential/public
excluded parts of the Trust Board meetings, in accordance with the meetings and
agenda requirements of LGOIMA. Your request covers a broad timeframe (January 2020
to 22 August 2021) and will require substantial effort to review all confidential items
from this period, much of which is likely to remain confidential. Given that, it is likely
that the Museum will need to seek reimbursement of reasonable costs for complying
with this part of your request, as per s.13 of LGOIMA. This is estimated to take 5 hours
per meeting minutes, charged at $38/half hour plus GST in excess of one hour (in
accordance with the
Ombudsman guidelines for charging) and payable prior to us
releasing information to you. Please let me know whether you wish to continue with this
request for all confidential minutes.
Alternatively, you may wish to consider narrowing this part of the request to a specific
Trust Board meeting or a specific topic. We would be happy to discuss this further with
you.
Thank you for your recommendation to consider publishing the minutes of the open
agenda online. This will be raised with the Trust Board for their consideration at the next
scheduled meeting.
