Thank you for your email of 11 August 2021 requesting the following information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
I would like copies of any research conducted or funded by the NZTA related to the brightness 
of headlights on vehicles operating on public NZ roads. Within the past 10 years.  
 
Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency has not conducted or funded any research related to headlight 
brightness within the past 10 years. Therefore, I am refusing your request under section 18(e) of the 
Act because the document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist.   
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to refuse
