Official Information Act request relating to regarding ‘They Are Us’ 
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), received 
by  the  Department  of  the  Prime  Minister  and  Cabinet  (DPMC)  on  13  July  2021.  You 
requested: 
 
“…please advise on what date DPMC first became aware of the proposed film project 
which has developed into “They Are Us”. I seek only the date…” 
 
A search of DPMC’s electronic records was undertaken. Based on the results of this search, 
I am advised DPMC learned of the proposed “They Are Us” film production on 10 June 2021, 
when the film received media coverage. 
 
This  response  will  be  published  on  DPMC’s  website  during  our  regular  publication  cycle.
