Request for information 2021-185 
 
Greater Wellington Regional Council (Greater Wellington) received the following request for 
information dated 12 July 2021: 
“Could you please provide me with the fol owing property price if possible? It is needed for 
conducting a study about housing price and property supply in New Zealand. Your help wil  
be mentioned in the acknowledgement section if the research is published in a journal. 
 
The property price needed is: 
Average sale price of all residential houses in a territorial authority in a given year in 
Wellington 
 
There are 9 territorial authorities in Wellington. Please provide the average sale price in each 
territorial authority. 
 
In terms of the length of the data, is it possible to get the annual data from 2000 to 2021? For 
the data in 2021, please include the most recent transactions when calculating the price.” 
As this information is not held by Greater Wellington but is more likely to be held by Kāpiti Coast 
District Council it is appropriate that Greater Wellington formally transfer the request pursuant to 
section 12 of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 for response. 
 
A copy of my letter, informing the requester of the transfer, is attached.
