Dear Ti Lamusse
Official Information Act request relating to Aranga Ake
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act (the Act), received on 12
July 2021. You requested:
“Please provide all documents held by the DPMC about He Aranga Ake, formerly
known as the Multi-Agency Coordination and Intervention Programme. Please include
all documents that outline which individuals or institutions created this programme and
the decision-making process through which this programme was created e.g. if this
was created through legislation or was an operational matter.”
I believe that the information you have requested is more closely connected with the functions
of the New Zealand Police. Accordingly, I have decided under section 14(b)(ii) of the Act to
transfer your request to the New Zealand Police.
The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet holds Cabinet papers relating to the
Government’s response to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the terrorist attack on
Christchurch masjidain, which contain references to He Aranga Ake, formerly known as the
Multi-Agency Coordination and Intervention Programme. These documents are publicly
available on the following website:

The New Zealand Police has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this transfer
to make a decision on your request.
