Greg Floyd
[FYI request #16008 email]
Dear Mr Floyd
Thank you for your email to Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities via the FYI website requesting the
following information:
A breakdown of total household income (before tax) of all Kāinga Ora houses in Pt Chevalier.
i.e. under 50k, 50k to 100k, 100k to 150k and over 150k
A breakdown of houses that do not have income related rent and those that don’t in the above
ranges – (if it’s easier to complete the request ‘after tax’ I accept this).
Your request has been processed in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
As you have been made aware, the first part of your request has been transferred to the Ministry of
Social Development, as we do not hold the information.
Kāinga Ora is also declining the second part of your request under section 18(g) of the act as we do
not record household income. We therefore cannot provide you the household data in the income
ranges of which you request.
I can instead advise you the number of market renters and income-related rent (IRR) Kāinga Ora
tenancies in Point Chevalier as of 30 June 2021. Please note this number is made up of Point
Chevalier census areas – East, South and West. I must advise you that we do not record data by
suburb, as some properties do not fall clearly within a suburb.
