Thank you for your request of 5 July 2021 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
requesting advice documentation received from, and costs incurred by, the Matariki Advisory
Group under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
The information requested is set out below, and the preliminary report by the Advisory Group is
attached.

The Matariki Advisory Group provided Ministers with three reports. The two final reports produced
are available on the MBIE website:

A preliminary report by the Matariki Advisory Group, delivered in February 2021, is also within the
scope of your request, and I am releasing this to you in full (attached).
Breakdown of fees, engagement and travel costs incurred to date:
Matariki Advisory Group
At 21 July 2021, the total fees paid to all advisory group
daily fees
members was
$141,651. Note that this includes their work
on engagement and consultation, which is not charged
separately.
The Matariki Advisory Group members are paid in
accordance with the Cabinet Fees Framework [CO(19)1
refers]. This means the Chair of the Group is paid $1,035
(plus GST if applicable) per day and members are paid
$780 (plus GST if applicable) per day.
