Tēnā koe Terry

Thank you for your email of 30 June 2021, requesting information about advice
provided to other government agencies regarding the proposed changes to the
Births, Deaths, Marriages and Relationships Registration Bill. Your request has been
considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA).

You requested:

all advice provided to the Ministry of Internal Affairs or any other ministry,
agency or minister on the impact proposed changes to the Births Deaths
Marriages and Relationships Act regarding birth certificates, and their impact
on operations in prisons and the Corrections Regulations 2005.

As some of the information you have requested is considered to be more closely
connected to the functions of the Office of Hon Kelvin Davis, I have partially
transferred your request in accordance with section 14 of the OIA. You may expect a
response from the Minister of Corrections in due course.

Corrections will provide a response to the rest of your request, as it relates to
information provided by Corrections to parties other than the office of the Minister of
Corrections, in due course, in accordance with the provisions of the OIA. I apologise
for the delay in notifying you of the partial transfer of your request.

I trust the information provided is useful.

Ngā mihi
