Thank you for your request for information dated 28 June 2021 about costs relating to The Avenue 
bus layover. 
To provide for a final bus stop and layover, this original project was a planned to achieve a relatively 
low-cost outcome to support the New Network Central Suburbs services. Once this became 
operational it became clear that the space provided was inadequate for the number of buses that 
the facility was required to support due to network growth and operational issues began to emerge. 
The current project is designed to produce a more enduring outcome for the scale of AT Metro bus 
operation that we are supporting in this location. The new design wil  also accommodate out of 
service bus movements combined with safety enhancements for buses completing u-turns within 
The Avenue. 
The cost to remove the indents was $24,365.23. The current project which includes additional space, 
safety improvements and an extension has a contract value of $252,259.00. As work is currently 
ongoing the final cost is yet to be confirmed.
