Dear Keith

I refer to your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) received on 27 June 2021
requesting the following:

I am interested in finding out the number of visas granted to registered nurses who came
with the intention of completing the CAP programme and thus gaining registered nurse
certification in NZ since the 28th of February 2020. In other words, the number of new
migrant registered nurses to NZ, on their first ever visa to NZ since the first COVID
lockdown

Our response
There are 668 visa applications which have been approved between 28 Feb 2020 and 1 July 2021 for
applicants who are arriving in NZ for the first time for the Competence Assessment Programme.
I trust you find the information helpful.
