Thank you for your email of 2 June 2021 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE)
requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
1. a copy of the employment contract for the Chief Executive of MBIE (Carolyn
Tremain);
2. a copy of the employment contract for Chris Bunny, Deputy Chief Executive,
Building, Resources and Markets; and
3. a copy of the employment contract for the Manager Building Performance and
Engineering.
As communicated to you on 4 June 2021, the first question of your request seeking the employment
contract for the Chief Executive of MBIE was partially transferred to Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service
Commission.
Our response to the remaining Questions 2-3 of your request is outlined below.
I am refusing both questions under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect the privacy of natural persons. In
accordance with section 9(1) of the Act, I do not consider this privacy concern to be outweighed by any
public interest considerations in favour of release.
