Thank you for your request for information dated 31 May 2021 about: 
 
I request all information held by Auckland Transport about the incident on Auckland Harbour 
Bridge on Sunday 30 May, prior to, during and after the incident. 
 
In particular, I am interested in what advance warning Auckland Transport or any of its 
directors, employees, consultants or other agents had of the incident, and what actions were 
taken to encourage, deter, facilitate or prevent the incident. However, please note that my 
request is broad, and includes all information as stated. 
 
Auckland Transport did not offer any pre-approval of the closures of any lanes on Auckland Harbour 
Bridge. Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency are the agency responsible for the NZ motorway network, 
which includes the Auckland Harbour Bridge and adjoining on and off ramps. NZ Police led the 
operational support for the event. 
I’ve attached the documents that are within scope of your request. Please note redactions have 
been made under section 7(2)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 
1987 (LGOIMA) as withholding of the information is necessary to protect the privacy of natural 
persons. 
Should you believe that we have not responded appropriately to your request, you are able to make 
a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA,  and 
seek an investigation and review in regard to this matter.
