Dear Harold
Official Information Act request relating to April stress-test of trans-Tasman bubble
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request, which was transferred from the
Ministry of Health on 2 September 2021. You requested:
1. “An April stress test relating to trans-Tasman quarantine-free travel. This is referred to on page
48 of this document: "Further testing and scenario planning also took place in April 2021,
pending the introduction of quarantine free travel with Australia."
2. A "scenario planning workshop" relating to pre-departure testing conducted in January.
3. Another workshop related to Cook Islands quarantine-free travel conducted in May.”
I have decided under section 15A of the Act to extend the time limits for deciding on your request by
an additional 20 working days. Consequently, the extended due date for your response will be 29
October 2021.
The extension is required because of the consultations needed to make a decision on your request.
Despite the extension, a response will be sent to you as soon as possible.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under section 28(3)
of the Act.
Yours sincerely
Sarah Corbett
