Mr Will Inglis
[FYI request #15491 email]
Tēnā koe Mr Inglis
Thank you for your email of 18 May 2021 to Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children,
requesting the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
“Copies of the responses to OIA requests received by the Ministry
and/or the Minister for Children between 2016 and 2020 containing:
- Lists of reports, aide memoires, briefings, memos etc. provided to the
Minister over a specific period
Please include responses from former Ministers for Children during this
period as well as the current Minister.”
On 16 June 2021 we released our initial response to your request. On the same
day, you replied stating:
•
I note that some information has been excluded as outside of the scope of
my request. I understand these wil be the titles that do not relate to the
Children's portfolio. However, as my request was for "copies of the
responses" of these OIA requests, and not "copies of these responses as
they relate to the Children's portfolio", and these responses included these
titles, they are in fact in scope of the original request….if you could provide
these responses in full (aside from redactions for the privacy of the original
requesters)…that would be much appreciated.
The consultations necessary to make a decision on this request are such that a
proper response cannot reasonably be made today. For this reason, I am writing to
extend the time limit for responding to your request until 30 June 2021, in
accordance with section 15A(1)(b) of the Act.
You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to review this decision. Information about
how to make a complaint is available at:
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by
contacting them on 0800 802 602. If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request
with
us, including this decision, please feel free to contact
[email address].
IN-CONFIDENCE
We wil try to respond sooner than this date if possible.
