2. In which circumstances are Board positions not advertised?
In special circumstances, candidates will be sought by nominations from selected parties. This is usually
where a highly specialised skill set is required, public advertisement has not resulted in a successful
recruitment, or there is a specific cultural expertise required for the role.
3. Does MBIE have a Board appointment web page?
We endeavour to advertise all Board positions on MBIE’s Current Board Vacancies page, located at:
www.mbie.govt.nz/about/who-we-are/board-appointments/current-board-vacancies. You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of my decision in accordance
with section 28(3) of the Act. Information about how to make a complaint is available at:
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or Freephone: 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
