Information Request – Christchurch 2612 
 
I refer to your official information request dated 11 April 2021 asking if there are any plans to 
replace/retire Christchurch 2612 (Bedford Hose Layer) and, if so, when and with what type of 
appliance. 
 
Fire and Emergency New Zealand has no confirmed plans at this stage regarding the replacement 
or retirement of Christchurch 2612 (Bedford Hose Layer). However, a business case is currently 
being prepared to determine replacement options. In the meantime, the current Christchurch 
2612 continues to be maintained to a high standard making it safe and suitable for the job.
