Response to your request for Official Information  
On 9 March 2021, you requested from the Human Rights Commission (“the 
Commission”) the dates of attendance for any events for the below organisations 
attended by Meng Foon since his appointment as Race Relations Commissioner. 
•  NZ Friendship for Peace Association 
•  New Zealand China Friendship Society 
•  Confucius Institute 
•  Chinese Students and Scholars Association 
•  Henan Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand 
•  New Zealand Peaceful Unification of China Association 
•  New Zealand Overseas Chinese Service Centre 
•  New Zealand Teo Chew Nang Association 
•  New Zealand Shandong Association 
Our apologies for the delay in providing this response.  
 
We have identified one NZ Friendship for Peace Association event on 1 November 
2020 and another on 28 November 2020. 
 
We have not identified other events that fall within the scope of your request.  
This event falls outside the scope of your request, but we are nonetheless noting that 
the Race Relations Commissioner intends to attend an April 14 2021 event involving 
the New Zealand China Friendship Society:
