Tēnā koe Ms Calix
Thank you for your email of 8 March 2021 to Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for
Children (Oranga Tamariki), requesting the following information under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
•
Please provide under the Official Information Act 1982, the salary range
for a Privacy Assessor in OT.
•
Can you please provide the range lowest to highest in spreadsheet format
and the count of employees receiving it.
Please note that we have interpreted ‘Privacy Assessor’ as asking for the salary
range of a Customer Information Request (CIR) Assessor, as they are part of our
team that responds to information requests under the Privacy Act 2020.
As at 28 February 2021, Oranga Tamariki has 40 permanent CIR Assessors. The
salary range for CIR Assessors spans $49,732 - $62,166 - $74,599 (80% - 100%
- 120%), with the average salary for the 40 permanent employees being
$57,361.00. Please note that this average is based on the employees’ FTE salary
(Full Time Equivalent as opposed to Actual Salary).
Please note we have not provided the details of individual CIR Assessors in
spreadsheet form as you requested, as it could breach the privacy of the
individual CIR Assessors, who would be able to self-identify themselves. We are
withholding these details under section 9(2)(a) of the Act in order to protect the
privacy of natural persons. The need to protect the privacy of these individuals
outweighs any public interest in this information.
Oranga Tamariki intends to make the information contained in this letter available
to the wider public shortly. We wil do this by publishing this letter on our website.
Your personal details wil be deleted, and we wil not publish any information that
would identify you as the person who requested the information.
