Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) which was 
transferred from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) on 16 March 
2021 for: 
“I wish to know the number of other workers, not employed by Hotels, but working in 
MIQF's who are currently earning below the Living Wage.” 
The Ministry of Health (the Ministry) can advise that health staf , not employed by hotels, in 
managed isolation and quarantine facilities in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua and Wellington do 
not receive an hourly rate that is less than the living wage.  
Please be advised, MBIE’s response to your request wil  include information for the non-health-
based workers and who are not employed by hotels in managed isolation and quarantine 
facilities.  
As advised in our letter to you on 7 April 2021, we have partially transferred your request to 
Canterbury District Health Board (Canterbury DHB) for their response. You can expect a 
response from Canterbury DHB in due course.
