Dear William
Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987
Re: Warkworth and Wel sford Subdivision
Thank you for your email, received on 26 January 2021, requesting information in relation to
the above Subdivision rates revenues.
Your request:
Please provide the number of rating units and the rates revenue budgeted and received
annually for the Warkworth and Wellsford subdivision of the Rodney Local Board for the
years from 2015/16 to 2019/20, broken down by rating categories, including targeted rates.
Our response:
Attached please find a table which outlines rating assessment numbers and rates generated
for the Warkworth and Wellsford subdivision (Attachment 1).
Notes
• GIS provides a list of assessments in the Warkworth/Wellsford electoral subdivision
areas that are current for 2020/21 year. GIS cannot provide historic data. The GIS
data for 2020/2021 is the assessment base for answering the query.
(If an assessment remained un-subdivided since 2015/16 then we can provide each
of the five rating years of rates for it. If, however, an assessment subdivided
beginning 2018/19, we would only be able to find the rates for it for two years,
2018/19 and 2019/20).
• Revenue received or generated vs revenue budgeted. The Rates department does
not track if the rates are paid or not. If a ratepayer is failing to make payments for any
length of time it goes to the Credit Control team. Only a miniscule amount of
accounts fail to pay their rates to the extent it reaches mortgagee sale, most people
pay eventually by being put on payment plans. For the purpose of this request we
have calculated that revenue received = revenue budgeted.
