Wellington City Council has partly
granted your request for information at no cost.
The Council has decided to withhold the individual salary for the above roles/staff under section
7(2)(a) of the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 to protect the privacy
of natural persons. I have considered the public interest in its release and have considered that
individual’s employees right to privacy outweighs any public interest.
I acknowledge that there is a public interest in how Council funds are being spent in terms of
salary, this is met though the statutory reporting requirements via our annual reports. However,
for the purposes of being transparent and to assist you with your request, I have decided to
release the following table which outlines the salary bands for the manager role since 2018, there
is no benefit package for managers. CEO Salary information is publicly available and available via
our annual reports. Please click on the link to the annual reports.
