Official Information request - Stance on University Clubs consuming alcohol in a Marae 
 
I refer to your information request dated 13 October 2020 as follows: 
 
“I would like to know what the Universities' Stance is on Student Clubs (such as Te Waiora) consuming alcohol 
in the Marae located at Gate 4 next to College Hall, especially as a Marae is considered to be a sacred space.” 
  
The University acknowledges the concern you have raised. While your request to understand the 
University’s stance on a matter is not a request for official information per se, please find attached 
the University’s policy on Alcohol on University Premises.  
  
If there is a particular complaint you wish the University to consider, please provide specific details 
on the event so the University may determine whether investigation is further required under its
