information relating to the New Zealand Rural Origins category of the medical (MB ChB) program at 
University of Otago for the past 2 years (2019-2020).   
 
1.  Number of New Zealand Rural Origins sub-category seats available in each of the two years 
(under the graduate category only) 
 
The number of Rural places is determined across the total cohort and no specific number was set for 
the graduate category in 2019 and 2020.  There are 55 rural places available in total.
