I refer to your official information request received by my office on 25 May 2020, in which 
you request the following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
When NZRP will be announced for 2020-21? 
 
The remaining questions in your request were transferred to Immigration New Zealand at the 
Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment on 2 June 2020.  
 
The previous planning range expired on 31 December 2019. That planning range was for 
50,000 to 60,000 resident visa approvals over the 18 month period. Immigration New 
Zealand continues to process resident visa applications at the same level as under the 
previous planning range, although the processing of some residence visa applications was 
disrupted due to COVID-19.  
 
You will appreciate that the decision as to the numbers and mix of the New Zealand 
Residence Programme is an important one and should not be rushed.  We are considering 
options and will make announcements in due course.
