Extension of time to respond to request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 29 February 2020 requesting the following information under the Official Information 
Act 1982 (the Act): 
… the construction cost (prior to the opening of the road) and the maintenance and operation (to 
date, by year, since the opening of the road) for the following roads: 
East Taupo Arterial Corridor 
Hawke's Bay Expressway 
Kapiti Expressway  
Northern Gateway 
Ruby Bay Bypass 
Takitimu Drive 
Tauranga Eastern Link 
Waikato Expressway 
Wellington Inner City Bypass 
Could you please separate out the maintenance and operation cost (rather than combine them). 
Excluding the above roads, could you please let me know what other new state highways have 
been constructed since 2008? 
 
This letter is to advise you that Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days 
available to respond to your request, as allowed for under section 15A of the Act. We require an 
additional 5 working days to respond to your request. We will send you a response on or before 3 April 
2020. The deadline is being extended because of the consultations necessary to make a decision on 
your request. 
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to complain to the Ombudsman about the extension.
