ail: [FYI request #12110 email] Dear Tama
Official information request for data on students who have completed their
degree 18 and 24 months
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act)
dated 29 January 2020:
“I would like to know how many students completed their Bachelors degrees
(from start to finish) in a total of 18 months (all papers completed within 18
months) and also how many completed their degrees within 24 months since
2016”.
There have been two students who enrolled at the University since 2016 who have
completed their Bachelor degrees within 24 months. There have been no students in this
timeframe that completed their Bachelor degree in 18 months.
Please note, the University has interpreted ‘from start to finish’ to mean from the
beginning to the end of the qualification, rather than ‘from start to finish’ at Victoria
University of Wellington. A large number of students transfer credit from another
institution when they begin their study at the University and therefore complete their
studies at the University in 24 months or less.
If you wish to discuss this decision with us, please feel free to contact me at
[VUW request email]. Yours sincerely
