Official Information Act Request – DHB Referral pathway policies  
 
We received your Official Information Act Request on 1 May 2020, which was partially 
transferred to us by the Ministry of Health.  We are responding to part 1 of your 
request: 
 
Request 1: I respectfully request a copy of each referral pathway for each region in 
New Zealand. 
 
MidCentral District Health Board does not have a written policy for such referral 
pathways. We do not decline GP referrals from other DHBs. We return the referral to 
the DHB of domicile as we have been requested formally to do by these DHBs.  
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this 
decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at 
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or free phone 0800 802 602. 
 
Please note that this response or an edited version of it may be published on the
