Thank  you  for  your  email  of  3  October  2019  to  the  Ministry  of  Education  requesting  the 
following information:  
 
•  A breakdown of the country of origin for overseas teachers that have been approved 
to teach in New Zealand from 2008 to current date. 
•  The annually cost for advertisements to promote overseas teachers to teach in New 
Zealand from 2014 to current date.  
 
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).  
 
The information are requesting in the first bullet point of your request is considered to be more 
closely  connected  to  the  functions  of  the  Teaching  Council.  I  have  therefore  partially 
transferred your request in accordance with section 14(b)(i ) of the Act. 
 
You may expect a response from the Teaching Council within 20 working days from the date 
they receive our transfer request. We wil  continue to work on the second bullet point of your 
request.
