Dear John Luke
Thank you for your email of 10 September 2019 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and
Employment requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
I would like to know how many Ministerial Advisory Group has been set up under the MBIE's
umbrella. I am only able to find one from your website. which is the "digital-economy/ministerial
advisory-group".
Are there any more out there? Also, are there any Ministerial Advisory Group set up in relation to
Immigration New Zealand or Regional economic development?
https://www.mbie.govt.nz/business-and-employment/economic-development/digital
economy/ministerial-advisory-group/
I am writing to advise you that the Ministry will provide a response but needs to extend the time
available to answer your request. The Ministry's response will be with you no later than 20 November
2019.
The reason for the extension is that consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such
that a proper response to the request cannot be made within the original time limit.
We have interpreted your request for 'Ministerial Advisory Groups' to include high profile public reviews
initiated by Ministers, advisory groups which have significant associated work programmes, and
Ministryled reviews with significant work programmes. If this scope is incorrect, please notify us.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information
about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802
602.
I will respond to you sooner if I am able to.
