I refer to your official information request dated 8 September 2019 asking for the fol owing information. 
 
“Please can you tel  me how many graduate research students newly enrol ed in 2018 were not either 
invited to apply for, or directly granted some combination of tutoring or grading work for the University?” 
 
The information you have requested is below.   
 
The University has identified 272 graduate research students newly enrolled in 2018. Of this number, 205 were 
not employed by the University in any capacity, and 67 were employed by the University. Of those employed by 
the University, we are unable to provide a specific breakdown of the number employed directly for tutoring or 
grading (or both), as we do not hold information in this way.
