Thank you for your email of 28 August 2019 requesting the following information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
I would like to request under the OIA any correspondence (including but not limited to 
text messages, emails, messages through messaging apps) between NZTA staff and the 
office of Mark Mitchell MP between 1 May 2019 and today (28/08/2019). By office I also 
mean to include the MP himself and his staff. 
On 20 September 2019, the NZ Transport Agency extended the timeframe for responding to 
your request.   
There are 3 documents in scope of your request. This information was compiled from 
searches of the official correspondence mailbox, the Transport Agency Board secretariat 
mailbox and the mailbox of the Director Regional Relationships – Upper North Island. The 
names of the documents and my decision regarding their release are in the document 
schedule attached. Some information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to 
protect the privacy of natural persons. I do not consider that it is in the public interest to make 
this information available.
