Extending the time to respond to your request made under the Official Information Act
1982
Thank you for your email of 9 August 2019 requesting the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
The former Minister of Transport in 2017 said of the following planned four-lane
motorways "...are expected to cost around $10.5 billion" - can I please have any and all
advice and estimates that shows the expected costs for them provided in 2017?

The NZ Transport Agency is extending the 20 working days available to us to respond to your
request. This is allowed for under section 15A of the Act. We need 15 more working days to
respond to your request. We will send you our response on or before 27 September 2019.
We are extending the deadline because you have requested a large quantity of information. It will
take us more than 20 working days to locate, collate and copy this information.
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision to
extend the time we will take to respond to your request. You can find the contact details for the
Ombudsman at: www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
