ail: [FYI request #10854 email] Dear John
Official information request for information related to the Hong Kong
protests
I refer to your official information request dated 31 July 2019:
“All correspondence received by the Office of the Chancellor and/or Vice
Chancellors from Chinese embassy and/consular officials, or their
representatives, within the last 45 days which address the protests in Hong Kong
and related university events, as well as memos and other written records of any
verbal or other representations on the matter.”
I can confirm that both the Office of the Chancellor and the Office of the Vice Chancellor
have received no correspondence or other information from the Chinese embassy or
consular officials and their representatives within the last 45 days which address the
protests in Hong Kong and related University events. Therefore, your request is refused
under section 18(e) of the Official Information Act 1982 as the document alleged to contain
the information requested does not exist.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
