I refer to your email dated 25 June 2019, requesting the following information: 
 
I am requesting the disclosure of the number of fines issued by AT, the number of queries 
raised against these and the number of responses provided by AT to these queries including 
the number of non-responses.  
 
Infringement Issuance:  
2017 = 514,859 
2018 = 536,105 
2019 = 302,189 year to date  
 
Incoming Correspondence:  
2017 = 72,185 
2018 = 78,553 
2019 = 40,756 year to date  
 
Auckland Transport (AT) cannot separate figures for outgoing correspondence in response to 
incoming correspondence to dispute an infringement. The outgoing correspondence amount wil  
always be greater than the incoming amount due to other administrative tasks associated with 
infringement notices, e.g. infringements served by post, reminder notices etc.  
 
Therefore, your request for information is refused under Section 17(e) of the Local Government 
Official Information and Meeting Act 1987 (LGOIMA) as the requested information does not exist.  
Please see below figures for all outgoing correspondence.  
 
Outgoing Correspondence:  
2017 = 73,054 
2018 = 86,362 
2019 = 45,688 year to date  
 
We trust the above information has addressed your request however should you believe that we have 
not dealt with your request appropriately, you are able to make a complaint to the Office of the 
Ombudsman in accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA Act, and seek an investigation and 
review in regard to this matter.
