Re: Enhancing Local Government Progress Report.
I refer to your email, which we received on 19 June 2019, requesting information
about progress reports on "Enhancing Local Government for Aucklanders” sent to
the to the Local Government Commission (LGC) following a report on 22 June 2018.
Please find attached for your information:
1. Progress update memo on LGC recommendations
2. November 2018 Progress update of the recommendations of the LGC.
Staff kept the mayor and council ors informed of correspondence with the Local
Government Commission via the attached memo. Although it was not formally
reported on a public agenda, there was no intention it should be kept confidential
and it is therefore not withheld.
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your
request, you have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA,
to apply to the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review of the decision.
