Official information request regarding free or subsidised tickets or passes 
I refer to your official information request 7 June 2019 for information regarding “did council ors 
receive free or subisdised tickets or passes to sporting, cultural and or commercial events, for 
the years 2016, 2017 2018”. 
The LGOIMA  enables people to request official  information from local government agencies, 
including  Palmerston  North  City  Council  (PNCC).    However,  the  LGOIMA  only  applies  to 
information that is already held by PNCC.  There is no obligation on PNCC to create information 
in order to respond to a request. 
The information you are seeking in this case is not held. 
I am therefore refusing your request under section 17(g) of the LGOIMA, because PNCC does not 
hold that information. 
You  have  the  right  to  seek  an  investigation  and  review  by  the  Ombudsman  of  this  decision.
