I refer to your Official Information Act request dated 15 April 2019 where you requested information from Hawke’s 
Bay District Health Board (HBDHB). Your questions and HBDHB’s response is provided below: 
 
  The total number of assaults against nurses by members of the public from 2013-2018. 
 
Over the period 2013-2018 a total of 70 assault-related events were reported by nursing staff. 
 
  How many assaults against nurses by members of the public, broken down by each year from 2013-2018. 
 
Please find below a table which shows assaults against nurses by members of the public, broken down by 
year, from 2013-2018. Please note this includes nurses, midwives, district nurses and public health nurses.
