to several appointments. The information you have requested, and our response, is

Steps taken of the following appointments under consideration so far, what
happened before they were put on hold, where they had been advertised, or if
they had ever been publicly advertise

Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa – one member/Chair position
•
Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga – one member position
•
Māori Heritage Council – one Chair and two member positions
•
Te Māori Manaaki Taonga Trust – three to five positions
•
Broadcasting Commission (NZ On Air) – one Chair position
•
National Pacific Media Trust – one Deputy Chair and one Treasurer
position
•
Sports Tribunal of New Zealand – two member positions
•
Integrity in Sport and Recreation Commission - one Chair and six to eight
member positions
As at 15 January 2024, Manatū Taonga is currently considering and advising
responsible Ministers on the appointment processes for the above positions. Each of
the upcoming vacancies listed above is in the planning phase, whereby we consider
the board’s collective skills and experience, and we advise and seek agreement from
the responsible Minister on their preferred recruitment approach and skills required.
As you are aware, the decision to initiate a public call for nominations is made by the
responsible Minister, and at the time of writing this letter no such decisions have been
made.
