Thank you for your email of 2 March 2021 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (the
Ministry) requesting the following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
:I wish to know the number of workers, directly employed by the Hotels currently operating
under contracts to provide MIQF services, who are currently earning below the Living Wage.
2:I wish to know the number of other workers, not employed by Hotels, but working in MIQF's
who are currently earning below the Living Wage.
This letter is to notify you that the Ministry is transferring part of the request to the New Zealand Police
(Police), in accordance with section 14 of the Act. For the second point, the Ministry does not hold any
information relating to what Police staff are paid and therefore it is appropriate Police respond to this
question.
The Ministry will respond to you with the information it does hold.
You have the right under section 28(3) of the Act to seek an investigation and review by the
Ombudsman of my decision to transfer part of your request. The relevant details can be found at:
