Dear Ministry for the Environment,

Please provide information on:

-The present government's position in regard to New Zealand’s present and future obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) including the position to be taken by New Zealand at UNFCCC Conferences of Parties (COP) and New Zealand’s obligations under the Paris Agreement applying from 2021 including New Zealand’s Nationally Determined Contribution;

-Results and analyses of the public consultation on the proposed Zero Carbon legislation;

- Information on and decisions made by the present government as to present and future government policy relating to addressing New Zealand’s greenhouse gas emissions.

- Information regarding consideration by the present government of the impact on Maori of measures implemented to address climate change.

- Engagement with Maori on the impact of the adverse effects of climate change and the impact of measures to address climate change on Maori.
