Foreign Visitor Numbers to Waiheke 
Thank you for your email which we received on 8 March 2019 in which you requested - 
-  access to  the most recent information relating to foreign visitor numbers to 
Waiheke Island. 
The Waiheke Island Local Board estimate in their latest annual report that more than one 
mil ion people visit Waiheke each year.  You can read their report at the link below.

We cannot, however, tell you how many of these visitors are foreign, which we have taken to 
mean those who do not live in New Zealand. We have consulted with the departments in the 
council who are most likely to hold this information. They have confirmed that we do not 
have any information which allows us to count the number of  foreign visitors to Waiheke.   
Neither are they are aware of any survey of visitors to Waiheke which asks if they live 
outside of New Zealand. A survey of visitors would be very difficult because of the multiple 
points and methods of entry to the island.
