Thank you for your email of 11 January 2019 to the Ministry of Education requesting the
following information:
1. I am requesting under the Official Information Act the following information regarding
the proposal for a land exchange between the Ministry of Education and the Wellington
City Council involving Turnbull Street and Thorndon School land:
1. Al email and written correspondence between Ministry of Education officials or
their agents and Wellington City Council staff members concerning the land
exchange and issues arising written since 1 March 2018.
2. Al email and written correspondence between Ministry of Education officials and/
or their agents concerning the land exchange and issues arising written since 1
March 2018.
3. Al email and written correspondence between Ministry of Education officials or
their agents and the principal or staff at Thorndon School concerning the land
exchange and issues arising written since 1 March 2018.
Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).
The Ministry needs to extend the timeframe of our response to your request by 30 working
days, pursuant to sections 15(A)(1)(a) and 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as the request necessitates a
search through a large quantity of information and consultations necessary to make a decision
on the request are such that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made
within the original time limit. For this reason, you can expect to receive a response to your
request request by
27 March 2019. I expect that we wil be able to respond to you before this
date.
Please be advised that should you have any concerns regarding this extension you have the
right to ask an Ombudsman to investigate our decision to extend the timeframe. You can do
