Thank  you  for  your  Official  Information  Act  request  to  the  Department  of  Conservation, 
dated 29 November 2018. You requested the following:  
 
“a copy of all of the internal DOC reports and emails previously released under the 
OIA on the rowi bill injuries at Kaipupu, possibly caused by A24 traps, as referred 
to in the newsroom article "When can-do conservation goes wrong", 28 November 
2018.” 
 
This is the first case of kiwi injury from A24 traps that DOC is aware of and may have been 
related to the height the traps were set at. DOC technical and science experts are working 
with operational teams to better understand the risk of A24 traps to kiwi and whether any 
practices need to be changed. We are keeping Goodnature informed of this work.
