Hey Erik,
Just have consulted with the team on this. Please if you could make sure you provide:
<![if !supportLists]>1. <![endif]>A specific number of bay requests – again apologies we don’t have that information about bay numbers but we’ve never tracked it and won’t start until these are potentially converted.
<![if !supportLists]>2. <![endif]>The necessary data to evaluate the requests
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom
You have not yet identified how many are available. Of the non-metered CBD spaces we have identified, how many did your / WCC's review unearth? As you might imagine, I would ideally like 50 CBD spaces with more if available.
Cheers
Erik

Hi Erik,
Good to know. If you could be specific about how many you want that would be helpful, but I understand your eagerness. Keep in mind, these are somewhat more uncertain than non-CBD parking bays.
Additionally, if you have any non-cbd requests please let me know.
Can you let me know when we can expect the requisite data?
Cheers,
Tom

Hi there!
As one of our currently interested Car Sharing providers, I’m getting in touch to chat about our upcoming round of parking bay allocations and other car sharing topics.
A few key elements:
- Arlington and Council: We are still accepting proposals to provide council with shared fleet services and/or an offering for the Arlington housing complex. We will likely make a decision later this year just given the timelines around some fleet decisions we need to make and the construction of the complex, I apologize for the delay for those who have already submitted their proposals we just had to kick the decision back as implementation struck!
- No on-street spaces remain of the 30 allocated for CBD general requests, however we still have 46 of 70 remaining in the suburban areas.
- For spaces to be allocated in the November round, I need requests by August 1. There are four bay allocation rounds per year.
Some considerations specific to this round of allocations:
- As a one-off, requests are currently being accepted for the following streets across the CBD. Though they are in the CBD area, they are currently unmetered and we will evaluate considering them as part of our Suburban allocation. These are less certain than areas outside of the CBD in the sense that they have to go through a more thorough evaluation process internally before potentially being allocated. That said, it is an opportunity to get cars on streets that are within the bounds of the CBD, which are not likely to be available in the near future:
o Wigan Street
o Martin Square
o Kelvin Grove
o Kensington Street
o Hill Street
o Portland Crescent
o Hawkestone Street
o Hania Street
- That said, opportunities still exist regardless. Generally, any request outside the CBD will likely be put to the public for consultation without too much fuss.
- If you need a detailed idea of what the CBD is, we will be shifting from using that poor resolution coupon parking map to this high-res district plan map(adopting the district plan definition of the CBD): http://eplan.wellington.govt.nz/#!Start
- New entrants to Wellington will be entitled to 3 vehicle spaces as per the car share policy.
- Existing operators will be required to provide the following in order to prove demand in order to make further requests:
o Membership numbers
o Membership composition (business / individual)
o Map of current accounts
o Utilization rates by vehicle for all existing vehicles regardless of where (public or private carpark)
§ Includes both % utilization rate and # of bookings
o Average trip distances across fleet
o Wait lists if any
Additionally, we are aiming to create a car sharing section of our website to direct residents to the providers in Wellington. If you would like to be included, let me know.
Cheers,
Tom

Subject: Next round of car sharing space dedications
Hi there!
As one of our currently interested Car Sharing providers, I’m getting in touch to chat about two topics:
1. If you could submit me any requests you have for additional spaces outside of the CBD – defined as the gray area on this map: http://wellington.govt.nz/~/media/services/parking-and-roads/parking/files/coupon-parking-zone.pdf - please do so by June 27 so I can include them in the next round of preparations, which would be sent up for approval in September to allow lead time for consultation. I will have some additional information about the CBD for this round that I will ideally provide next Monday or Tuesday.
2. Additionally, from the last round we had two requests pulled for car sharing locations – in front of 24 Elizabeth Street and at the end of Hill Street in front of Parliament. These sites were originally intended for electric car share but have no electrical supply. There are three spaces at each site which have already been consulted on, and we could have them painted for operations by end of August if approved by Council. That said, we need to ensure we have someone who would like them before sending them up the chain. If you could please let me know if you are interested in these spaces by June 27 as well, I would be most grateful. The locations are here:
a. 3 bays at Hill Street - https://www.google.co.nz/maps/@-41.27697,174.7775466,3a,75y,237.59h,84.69t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1spZFpCWE6EhdCo310vlQTZQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
b. 3 bays at Elizabeth Street - https://www.google.co.nz/maps/@-41.2960994,174.7843384,3a,75y,193.13h,79.3t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1somt0Kviw5loDzsxfDeRH5Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
I am available to chat about this if you are interested, though I already have chats scheduled with some of you in the near future.
Cheers,
Tom
