I refer to your email, which we received on 16 March 2012, requesting information about the 
cost of the Ports of Auckland dispute. 
Auckland Council and Auckland Council Investments Limited do not hold any information in 
connection with the cost of the dispute.  Until such time as the dispute is settled we will not 
be in a position to estimate that amount, therefore pursuant to Section 17(e) of the Act “that 
the document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist or cannot be 
found”, we are refusing your request. 
Should you believe we have not responded appropriately to your request, you have the right 
by way of complaint, under s27(3) of the LGOIMA, to apply to the Ombudsmen to seek an 
investigation and review of this decision
