I am limiting this request to information produced after 1 January 2015.

I am a New Zealand citizen, resident in New Zealand.

The NZ Transport Agency considers that the scope of your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (below) is very broad and the information cannot be made available without substantial collation and research. To help the Transport Agency to respond to your request, could you please refine what information you are seeking. For example, are you requesting:
1. every business case since 2015 where 2 + 1 configurations was considered? or
2. every safety review since 2015 where 2 + 1 configurations was considered? or
3. Every maintenance attendance since 2015 where 2 + 1 configurations was considered? Or--
4. Every upgrade / change since 2015 where 2 + 1 configurations was considered?

Dear Jurgita Klein,

I am asking about the 2 plus 1 road layout because I want to know what technical assessments NZ Transport Agency have made of this road layout, its strengths and weaknesses, and when it should be considered appropriate as a road layout option.

So the request can be narrowed, for now, by limiting it to the following:
-- every safety review since 2015 where 2 + 1 road configurations were considered;
-- any assessment since 2015 of the use of a 2 + 1 configuration on State Highway 1 between Whangarei and Te Hana; and
-- any guidelines or similar published 2015 on the use of 2 + 1 road configurations.

I trust that narrows the request sufficiently.
