Official Information Act request relating to the Prime Minister's maternity clothing
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 23 February
2018. You requested the following information, in reference to this article:

"A) How many people were in Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's Maternity Clothing
'Team'?
B) Were this team part of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's official staff?
C) Were this team being paid by the New Zealand Taxpayer/ Parliamentary Services to
research maternity clothes from the Prime Minister? If not, who were they paid by?

what is the estimated of this research, to the New Zealand Taxpayer (Full
breakdown of associated costs) ?
D. What was
the combined time spent on this research?"
The persons involved in researching maternity clothing stores for Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern are
not employed by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) or the Office of
the Prime Minister. Accordingly, any information about this is not held by DPMC, nor by the
Prime Minister in her capacity as a Minister of the Crown.
Information that is held by the Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern in any other capacity, such as Leader
of the New Zealand Labour Party, Member of Parliament, or as a private individual, is not
official information as defined in section 2 of the Act. Accordingly, your request does not
meet the requirements as a request for official information.
This response will not be published on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet's
website during our regular publication cycle. You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to
investigate and review my decision under section 28(3) of the Act.
